本片描寫(xiě)在公元1700年的印度洋，海盜橫行，他們?cè)隈R達(dá)加斯加島設(shè)有要塞，追緝的官兵艦艇一進(jìn)入其海域即被交叉火網(wǎng)之炮火擊沉。霍克中尉假裝變節(jié)投靠海盜，經(jīng)海盜集團(tuán)船長(zhǎng)會(huì)議，需證明其被開(kāi)除并打敗好勇斗狠的海盜以表現(xiàn)勇氣才得以加入。在獲得艷盜——史提芬船長(zhǎng)（莫林．奧哈拉飾）的幫助下通過(guò)考驗(yàn)，并乘海盜船掠奪印度皇家船，擄走古月公主。最后終于獲取了艷盜的芳心，徹底瓦解了海盜基地。本片情節(jié)豐富曲折，頗能吸引觀眾繼續(xù)觀看下去，場(chǎng)面復(fù)雜但是頗能引人入勝。
